Thank goodness for the horse meat scandal! (apart from the poor horses of course : / )
I have just seen on the news that 1 in 5 people have changed what meat they are buying, and of those people, 58% have stopped buying processed meat altogether!
This is great news because all processed food is toxic to the body whether it be: from a horse or cow; yoghurt or cheese; chocolate or drinks.
We should be using simple, natural ingredients to feed and nourish our fabulous bodies.
Has the horse meat scandal changed your eating patterns?

Waterstones Book Signing Event – This Saturday!
The date was changed due to bad weather from January to this Saturday!
11am to 1pm at Bishops Stortford Waterstones.
If you’ve not got a copy of my book yet then come and get your signed copy xx
Finally we have a date for the next Gong Wash!
Put Tuesday 5th March in your diary 8pm-8.30pm
Please book your place as there are only 10 spaces.
The gong vibrations move through you breaking down blockages of stress and tension.
As the sound reaches your body, imagine stress dissolving and leaving your body through the floor.
The gong wash is very powerful and if you have something that you would really like to let go of,
you can hold it out to the gong and ask it to break down this subject imagining it leaving your energy completely.
The Dangers of Aspartame
Aspartame is an artificial sweetener found in ‘diet’ foods and drinks.
Most diet soft drinks contain artificial sweeteners in an attempt to reduce calories, and
Aspartame provides a taste similar to real sugar while having no calories.
BUT there are over 92 different health side effects associated with aspartame consumption including:
- Headaches and migraines
- Severe PMS
- Aspartame addiction and increased craving for sweets
Aspartame may trigger, mimic, or cause the following illnesses:
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
There is a lot of information on the internet about Aspartame, and i highly recommend you look into it.
Personally i do not consume anything with this poison in it as it’s just not worth the risk of the above lists.
It’s shocking to realise that so many household family products contain Aspartame including:
- All diet fizzy drinks & some ‘full fat’ ones too
- Robinson’s squash
- Muller Light yoghurt
- Danone Activia
- Weight Watcher products
- every brand of chewing gum
- (some) Walkers crisps
- Silver Spoon sugar and sweetener
- chocolate drinking powders
- some stir fry/casserole/curry sauces
The message here is to CHECK LABELS! carefully for this hidden nasty.
I squeeze the juice of half a lemon or orange, or use fresh mint leaves in water or fizzy water (in the evening for a treat!) rather than use squash.
You will be amazed how much better you feel when you get this toxin out of your system….
….and how well behaved your children will become!
Please let me know what you think, and how you get along with your aspartame detoxification : )
A massive congratulations to two Inner Guidance students who have new bundles of joy!
Sam from the Tuesday lunchtime semi-private yoga class gave birth to Tommy on 23rd January.
Sam continued yoga all the way to Christmas, so hopefully we’ll see Tommy in class in a few years time ; )
And more massive congrats to Serena from the Tuesday evening meditation class. She gave birth to Kaydon on 26th January.
Serena is really looking forward to getting back to class, but is currently doing her practise at home with the little one.
So much love to Sam and Serena and their babies and families xxx
The next birth is due in July….and who will be next!
There is definitely something about Inner Guidance Studio as i have 2 pregnant neighbours also!
…..maybe it’s the gong vibrations ; )
Look out for the Norfolk retreat video
I did a lot of filming at the January Norfolk retreat, and am currently putting all the footage together to form a video.
This will be great for any of you out there that are interested in coming along, but would like to see what it involves first.
We had an amazing weekend of yoga and food!
2 rooms have already been booked at the next Norfolk retreat which is 4th-6th October, with just 4 remaining.
If you are thinking of coming please do not leave it too late!
What i’m eating this month
Due to popular demand here is the recipe to make raw chocolate. Ideal to make with your little ones during half term next week!
We made raw chocolates at the Norfolk retreat, and everyone was so surprised at how easy it is.
You will need to buy some special ingredients, but once you have these in your cupboard you will be able to make these delights at any time ; )
Melt 1 cup of cacao butter or coconut butter in a bowl above a saucepan of water on a VERY low heat (to maintain rawness).
Food can be heated up to a temperature of 100 degrees to stay ‘raw’ and hold onto enzymes –making it extremely healthy.
Once melted, take off the heat & get yourself a small whisk and add the agave. Try not to put too much in! 2 teaspoons should be enough.
Agave is by far better than sugar (get rid of sugar completely from your diet), but should still be used sparingly.
Then mix in 1 cup of cacao powder. Now the mixture will look like chocolate……and you need to test some to see how it tastes!
Once you have the sweetness right, and the powder is completely mixed in, add a few drops of organic essential oil to taste:
my favourites are either orange or mint. Again taste a little to get the quantity correct for you….yum!
Then you need to set the chocolate. You can buy great silicon moulds online to make your chocolates look like roses, hearts or squares,
OR just cover the bottom of a square container -pyrex, glass or ceramic preferably- 1cm in thickness.
Put in the fridge for at least an hour.
You have made your first organic raw chocolate : ) So good for you and without all the nasties in processed chocolate.
The oil we are using is a ‘good’ fat, but is fattening when you eat a lot of it, but because raw chocolates are so rich you do not need as much as you would when eating ‘normal’ chocolate’.
Guilt free chocolate : ) : )
…..and let me know how you get on xx
